Findings Art Gallery showcased one hundred of Jan ter Weele's paintings. Nudes, landscapes and abstracts were all on eye-popping display. The event followed the Beacon of Hope, "Art for Achievement" art auction in Lynchburg, Virginia where Jan's donated piece (see below) sold for over $3,000 at auction. The auction's proceeds assist young people gaining access to higher education and technical training programs that Jan as an educator and superintendent of schools would have loved. Findings Art Gallery has worked for several months to promote Jan's art with pieces selling in nearby Charlottesville Virginia, as well as North Carolina, but most recently five pieces were shipped to Alaska. We are grateful that Jan's art continues to inspire a love for color and beneficence. Jan's sister Margery attended the event and charmed buyers with tales of Jan's childhood and art career. Wine, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres complimented a delightful evening of Jan's art.
Lynchburg Beacon of Hope in partnership with the Lynchburg Art Club hosted their 5th Annual Art for Achievement event. Jan ter Weele’s donated piece, a 2006 painting “Freeport #1” was purchased for $3,400.
